Throughout my career, I’ve worked as an editor for various literary presses, K-12 educational presses, and top academic and trade publishers. I hold advanced degrees in writing from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) and the University of Oregon, where I taught courses in English composition, persuasive and research writing, fiction, and poetry.

I have training in several different dyslexia programs, and I am CERI certified as a Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist using the Orton Gillingham approach. I have completed reading science and dyslexia certificates from Mount St. Joseph University. I graduate with an MA in Reading Science from MSJ in the spring of 2025.

I currently live in Katy, Texas, with my husband and our wildly bright sixth-grader, a cat, and two mischievous dogs who enjoy trampling our garden.
